Is my information confidential?
I strive to protect the individual’s information; treating others the way I would want to be treated.
How long will I need to attend therapy?
Everyone’s needs are individualized. If available, clients usually attend weekly therapy sessions initially and taper off as needed. Clients are welcome to come back in anytime as issues arise in their lives. If clients are experiencing a crisis, they are welcome to attend more than one session per week.
Do I have to take medication?
Medication is a choice. A medication referral will be provided, if beneficial, along with ongoing effective strategies and coping skills.
Is the therapist a Christian and is Christian Spirituality a part of the therapeutic process?
I am a Christian and counsel utilizing the holistic approach, which includes the individual’s Christian coping skills, such as utilizing their faith.
Am I required to have a diagnosis?
Insurance companies require a diagnosis, whereas private pay clients are not required to have a diagnosis. However, a diagnosis often provides clarity, which leads to an effective solution.
Will parents be given feedback regarding the underage client’s session?
Parents are welcome to join the youth’s session; otherwise parents will receive an update on pertinent information.
Will the therapist take sides?
It is very important to me, that families build and restore bonds. I help eliminate caregiver splitting that can increase rebellion while increasing boundaries that are more productive.
Will teens be given a referral to a Behavioral Hospital, if they attend therapy?
Referrals are made to Behavioral Hospitals if an individual has current suicidal or homicidal ideations with a plan.
